Doma United have met with the leadership of their supporters' groups following disciplinary sanctions imposed on the club by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) over incidents surrounding their match against Kun Khalifat FC.
The meeting was organised to review the circumstances that led to the punishment and agree on measures to prevent similar incidents at future home fixtures.
Club officials and representatives of the supporters' groups attended the meeting, where discussions focused on improving fan conduct and ensuring compliance with league regulations.
The management reminded supporters that Doma United are responsible for the behaviour of their fans under NPFL rules. It also stressed that violations can result in serious consequences, including financial penalties and restrictions affecting the club's home matches.
Representatives of the supporters' groups reportedly acknowledged the need to learn from the incident and pledged to educate members on acceptable behaviour during matches.
They also expressed their willingness to cooperate with stadium security personnel and match officials to help maintain order at the club's games.
The engagement forms part of efforts to avoid further disciplinary action and strengthen cooperation between the club and its supporters.
Doma United were recently fined N5.25 million by the NPFL and ordered to play their next three home matches behind closed doors following the unruly behaviour of supporters after their encounter with Kun Khalifat FC.
The sanctions represent a significant setback for the club, as the closed-door directive means supporters will be unable to attend the affected home fixtures.
The meeting with supporters is intended to ensure that the incident does not happen again, with the club seeking greater awareness of the rules governing conduct at NPFL matches.
For Doma United, preventing a recurrence will require supporters to maintain discipline and work with security officials throughout home games. The club's management has made clear that supporter behaviour carries consequences for the team, not just the individuals involved.
The club will now look to ensure that the commitments made during the meeting translate into improved conduct at future fixtures as it seeks to avoid further sanctions from the league.
