Rangers International have appealed to their supporters to fill the stands and cheer the team on when they host Algerian side MC Alger in the first leg of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round tie.
The encounter is scheduled for Sunday at the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex, with kick-off set for 2pm Nigerian time.
Rangers General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Amobi Ezeaku, called on fans and Nigerians to rally behind the team as the Flying Antelopes prepare for the important continental fixture.
Ezeaku believes strong support from the stands could provide the players with the motivation needed to produce a positive result on home soil before travelling to Algeria for the return leg.
The Rangers chief also highlighted the importance of the club to Enugu State and Nigerian football, noting that the team represents more than just a football side when competing on the continental stage.
He urged supporters to demonstrate their loyalty by turning out in large numbers and creating an encouraging atmosphere for the players.
The match presents Rangers with an important opportunity to establish an advantage before the decisive second leg away from home. A positive result in the first encounter would strengthen their position as they seek to progress further in the CAF Champions League.
Rangers booked their place in the second preliminary round after overcoming Sobemap of the Benin Republic in the opening stage of the competition.
The Nigerian side advanced after winning 4-3 on penalties, following a 2-2 aggregate draw across the two legs.
That victory set up the meeting with MC Alger, a crucial challenge for the Flying Antelopes as they pursue progress in Africa's premier club competition.
With the first leg approaching, Rangers are counting on their supporters to play their part in the team's campaign. The club will hope the backing of the home crowd can inspire a strong performance and help them secure a result to take into the return fixture in Algeria.
